BGS Conference on Resource Management, Sustainability and Climate Change


The increasing threats of human impacts on natural resources call upon an immediate need to address the issues and to reconsider the existing management practices for achieving sustainability. Bangladesh a disaster prone country, we must pro-actively consider climate change to find sustainable/need based effective solutions for natural resource management, while impacts are direct, adverse and require immediate actions.

To receive expert’s opinions on these burning issues, a day long conference entitled RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, SUSTAINABILITY AND CLIMATE CHANGE is going to be organized by the Bangladesh Geographical Society (BGS) on 30 March 2019 Saturday at the Department of Geography and Environment, University of Dhaka.

It is expected that the conference would bring all experts from relevant fields with updated research findings and experiences encouraging the young and potential researchers to contribute in areas with sustainable resource management in the interface of changing climate condition.

Professor Dr K B Sajjadur Rashed, a prominent environmental scientist will deliver the keynote speech in the event.

Abstract Submission

Deadline: 20 February 2019

Abstract can be submitted to the following address. However, it is requested to submit softcopy of the abstract via email. Abstract acceptance result will be disseminated through email by 10 March 2019.

Full Paper Submission:

Some selected papers (after review) will be published in the ORIENTAL GEOGRAPHER, a biannual publication of BGS. The deadline of the submission of full-length paper is 15 April 2019.


Fee: TK 500 For Student, TK 1000 for Others
