A 36-Hours (3 Credits) Certificate Course on Understanding Disaster Risk and Resilience ended at State University of Bangladesh (SUB) on January 19, 2019, with 30 participants from public, corporate and development sectors including Armed Forces and Diplomatic Mission. [Press Release]

The certificate awarding ceremony started with Professor Ar. Shamsul Wares, Dean, School of Science and Technology, SUB in the chair and hosted by Dr. Khan Ferdousour Rahman, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Environmental Science at SUB and also the Course Director

Professor Dr. Md. Sayeed Salam, Vice Chancellor, SUB was present as Chief Guest and handed over certificates among the participants.

The closing session was also addressed by Professor Emiretus Dr. Iftekhar Ghani Chowdhury, Advisor of SUB, Ms. Hasin Jahan, Country Director, Practical Action Bangladesh and Dr. Mahmudul Islam, Coordinator, Disaster Management Education, Research and Training Network (DMERT).

Teachers, students, invited guests and other dignitaries were present in the session. SUB organized the course in association with Practical Action Bangladesh and DMERT. Dainik Amader Somoy, Daily Sun and online news portal Andolon71 were the media partners.
